Element Interactions and Dynamic Behaviour of Multistage Intercooled Reciprocating Compressors - an Analytical and Experimental Study

چکیده
This paper describes a model which can simulate the dynamic behaviour 'Of a multi stage, intercooled reciprocating compressor. A mathematical model was derived for each element of such a system, accounting for entropy changes due to friction or uther irreversible processes. Numerical solution of the model was effected on a digital computer using discrete time steps and a quasi -steady approach. Results predicted using the model are compared with corresponding experimental results obtained from a simple two-stage intercooled air compressor.

Improved Behaviour of Accordion Metallic Dampers Affected by the Increasing Number of Layers
In recent years, thin-walled accordion tubes under axial cyclic loading due to their appropriate energy absorption mechanism and behavioral characteristics were suggested as hysteretic metallic dampers. The effectiveness of accordion metallic damper (AMD) to protect and mitigate the response of structures under seismic loading is well established both experimentally and analytically. In this pa...

Three-cylinder linear engines are designed to minimize, reduce fuel consumption and pollution. The disadvantages of this type of engine, heavy vibration inherent in them. this study aims to balance Three-cylinder linear engines with a balancing shaft. First, the dynamic analysis of these types of engines identifies unbalanced sources. The results of the dynamic analysis showed that the inertial...
متن کاملComputer Simulation of Two-Stage Reciprocating Compressors
Computer simulation of the thermodynamics and dynamics of an intercooled two-stage two-cylinder reciprocating air compressor system is reported and the obtained results discussed. The main emphasis is placed upon modeling the pressure-wave motion in the interconnecting pipework for which the governing equations were solved by means of two different methods: the characteristic mesh method and th...
متن کاملMULTI FRACTURE/DELAMINATION ANALYSIS OF COMPOSITES SUBJECTED TO IMPACT LOADINGS
A combined finite/ discrete element method is presented for modelling of composite specimens subjected to dynamic/impact loadings. The main task is set on developing an algorithm for simulation of potential bonding and debonding/delamination phenomena during impact or general dynamic loading conditions. In addition, full fracture analysis can also be performed. The proposed approach adopts a ge...
